A pair of versatile sandals is one of my summer essentials. This year, I added the Everlane bridge sandal to my wardrobe and as it’s been a scorcher of a summer so far, these slides have been an almost daily go-to.
In my experience, Everlane’s shoes never disappoint and their bridge sandals are no exception. These slides were comfortable right out of the box and look great styled with everything from denim to shorts to a summer dress. They’re made in Italy from vegetable tanned leather and as per the description on Everlane’s website, the leather has indeed darkened and developed a lovely patina with wear. Although Everlane’s website notes that these sandals fit true to size, I generally find that Everlane’s shoes run small, so I went up half a size and they fit perfectly!
I’ve worn these sandals on many summer excursions so far and they have worn beautifully. Unlike some slides that require constant toe scrunching to keep on your feet, the wide leather bridge makes these ones feel very secure. One point to note is that the footbed of the bridge sandal is very flat and is not padded; this perhaps does not make them the most sensible choice for long days of walking as they offer no arch support.
My favourite way to wear the Everlane bridge sandal is with a pair of skinny jeans and a simple T-shirt or button down. That said, I’ve paired these classic slides with almost every item in my capsule wardrobe and they always look great. Looking forward to wearing these beauties for many summers to come.
