Sundays are often quite busy for us. After a hectic week, we laze around on Saturdays and then let Sundays pick up the slack. Sundays become our days for tackling projects around the house, tidying, cleaning, and for laundry. Sundays are for catching up on personal emails, paying bills, and for planning for the week ahead. Today, however, was one of those aimless Sundays that was thrown totally off track by a long, lazy brunch. And it was GLORIOUS.
After a cappuccino, coffee, peppermint tea, mountain of pancakes, and much heartfelt conversation, we were ready to brave the cold and headed down to the shore for a walk on the beach. Grey, wintery beach days are my favourite; I wish I could extract this muted grey-blue-green palette to create a wallpaper for somewhere in our home. There wasn’t much wind today and the water was quite calm, so although it was a bit fresh outside, it was definitely not cold. My blazer and scarf kept me nice and cozy. I wear some version of this jeans-stripy tee-blazer outfit combination on most days; Ryan calls it one of my “uniforms”. I always feel quite chic when wearing some version of this combo and the layers make it perfect for colder months. It just never lets me down.
After our wander down by the shore and an extended drive around the countryside, we headed back home and cozied up by the fireplace for some reading and Netflix. The laundry is not done, the baseboards for our freshly painted kitchen are still waiting to be cut, the floor isn’t vacuumed, but that’s just fine. Lazy Sundays are the best prologue to any week, so I say, “bring it on, Monday. I am ready for you.”
